Quran Verses About Tawhid (the Oneness of Allah)

التوحيد

22 ayahs, with Arabic, word by word English and audio.

التوحيد tawhid declaring that Allah is one, with no partner

Tawhid means declaring that Allah is one. Everything else in Islam is built on it.

Al-Ikhlas 112:1-4 is four short lines. He is One, the Eternal Refuge, He neither begets nor is born, and there is nothing equal to Him.

Al-Baqarah 2:255, known as Ayat al-Kursi, is the longest ayah here. Neither drowsiness nor sleep takes Him, and nothing of His knowledge is grasped except what He wills.

Al-Anbya 21:22 makes an argument rather than a statement. Had there been gods besides Allah in the heavens and earth, both would have been ruined.

Al-Hashr 59:22-24 closes with a run of His names, including the Sovereign, the Pure, the Grantor of Security, the Creator and the Fashioner.

Adh-Dhariyat 51:56 gives the purpose that follows from it: jinn and mankind were created to worship Him.

Surah Al-Ikhlas الإخلاص

Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Surah Taha طه
14
١٤

innanī anā l-lahu lā ilāha illā anā fa-uʿ'bud'nī wa-aqimi l-ṣalata lidhik'rī

Indeed, I am Allāh. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.

Surah Adh-Dhariyat الذاريات

Allāh witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

inna rabbakumu l-lahu alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa fī sittati ayyāmin thumma is'tawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi yugh'shī al-layla l-nahāra yaṭlubuhu ḥathīthan wal-shamsa wal-qamara wal-nujūma musakharātin bi-amrihi alā lahu l-khalqu wal-amru tabāraka l-lahu rabbu l-ʿālamīna

Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

Surah Al-An'am الأنعام

al-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wajaʿala l-ẓulumāti wal-nūra thumma alladhīna kafarū birabbihim yaʿdilūna

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light. Then those who disbelieve equate [others] with their Lord.

Allāh has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have [sought to] overcome others. Exalted is Allāh above what they describe [concerning Him].
